Please read these Terms carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using WWJS, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and WWJS (“WWJS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and govern your use of the What Would Jesus Say? mobile application, praywithjesus.app, and related content and services (together, the “Services”). Our Privacy Policy also applies to your use of the Services.
If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. The Services
WWJS offers a guided Christian prayer experience that may include Scripture references, reflections, audio prayers, reminders, favorites, playback progress, subscription options, and related features. The exact features, content, availability, and pricing may differ by platform, country, app version, or plan.
We may improve, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features or content. We do not guarantee that every prayer, audio item, or feature will always be available or that the Services will operate without interruption.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Services only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian. You may not use the Services if applicable law prohibits you from doing so.
4. License and acceptable use
Subject to these Terms, WWJS grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the app and access its content for your own non-commercial devotional use.
You agree not to:
- copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, license, or publicly perform the Services except as law expressly permits;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where such a restriction is prohibited by law;
- remove copyright, trademark, attribution, or proprietary notices;
- interfere with security, access controls, servers, networks, or another person’s use of the Services;
- use automated systems to scrape, harvest, overload, or abuse the Services;
- use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or infringing activity; or
- misrepresent your relationship with WWJS or imply our endorsement without written permission.
5. Devotional-content disclaimer
WWJS provides devotional and educational content intended to support personal Christian prayer and reflection. The title “What Would Jesus Say?” describes a reflective devotional experience. The Services do not claim to transmit direct messages from Jesus, God, or any supernatural source.
Reflections and prayers may involve interpretation and should not be treated as authoritative doctrine, prophecy, or a replacement for Scripture, personal discernment, participation in a faith community, or guidance from qualified clergy or spiritual advisers. Scripture quotations and references should be considered in their full context and in the translation you trust.
6. Health, professional, and emergency disclaimer
The Services do not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Prayer and reflection may complement, but should not replace, care from qualified professionals.
WWJS is not an emergency or crisis service. If you believe you or another person may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis, contact an appropriate crisis service or qualified professional in your location.
7. Purchases, subscriptions, and trials
Some features may require a one-time purchase or recurring subscription. Prices, billing periods, included features, and any trial terms will be shown before purchase. Taxes may apply.
Purchases made through Apple or Google are billed to your app-store account and are also governed by that store’s terms. Unless the purchase screen states otherwise, recurring subscriptions renew automatically until canceled through your app-store settings. You must cancel before the renewal deadline shown by the store to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds, charge disputes, and billing support are handled according to applicable law and the policies of the platform that processed the purchase. We may change future pricing or plan features with notice required by law or platform rules. Changes do not alter a current paid period unless stated and permitted.
8. Ownership and feedback
The Services—including software, design, branding, artwork, recordings, prayer copy, compilations, and other original materials—are owned by WWJS or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. “WWJS,” “What Would Jesus Say?,” the logo, and related marks may not be used without permission.
Bible text and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners and may be used under license or other applicable permissions.
If you voluntarily provide ideas or feedback, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use and incorporate that feedback without restriction or compensation, provided we do not identify you publicly without permission.
9. App stores, devices, and third-party services
The Services depend on third parties such as Apple, Google, Supabase, device operating systems, internet providers, and content or hosting services. Their terms and privacy policies govern your relationship with them. WWJS is not responsible for third-party services, availability, content, or security that we do not control.
If you download the app from an app store, the store provider is not responsible for maintaining or supporting WWJS except as its own terms require. The store provider may be a third-party beneficiary of the portions of these Terms that apply to your app license.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” WWJS disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and quiet enjoyment. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for your particular spiritual, personal, or professional needs.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WWJS and its suppliers, licensors, and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities, arising from or related to the Services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising from the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid WWJS for the Services during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless WWJS and its representatives from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful misuse of the Services or material breach of these Terms.
11. Termination, updates, and changes
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or end access if you materially breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or misuse the Services. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and applicable law—will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, business practices, or law. We will post the revised Terms and update the date above. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice. Continuing to use the Services after the effective date of revised Terms means you accept them, to the extent permitted by law.
12. Applicable law, disputes, and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to WWJS, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence remain unaffected. Before starting formal proceedings, you and WWJS agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally by written notice, unless urgent relief is required.
If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain effective. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, reorganization, or transfer of the Services. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement regarding the Services unless additional written terms expressly apply.
